Widal Industry transitions to Damstahl's One-Push solution for efficient digital ordering, ensuring traceability and easy access to certificates, enhancing their metal processing operations.
Several tons of steel annually come in to Widal Industry’s machinery, and out as processed material. With a broad profile and as a frequent user of stainless steel, the company was tired of manual processes and recently transitioned to the purchasing solution One-Push, from Damstahl. A more efficient working environment and order placements on their own terms are now some of the wins Widal Industry benefits from.
The metal processing company Widal Industry has, since its beginning, ordered material by email and phone. Recently however, they transitioned to One-Push to create their own digital orders without intermediator. The dependance on individual salespersons is now a bare memory and more efficient purchasing a fact.
''Earlier, our orders were handled manually through phone and email and the dependance on our contact person was prevalent. Now, we can place an order directly through our business system and download our certificates with direct response'', says Jan-Anders Bengtsson, preparation manager.
The importance of development
Widal Industry is, as they put it themselves, an all-around subcontractor and supplier of stainless steel that bends, welds and mills material to different industries. What was a company specialized in steel polishing, developed with time to a company offering complete solutions in material processing. With that in mind, Widal Industry knows the importance of development and renewal, business planner Freddy Wiberg, puts it this way:
'' We always try to find innovative solutions that could improve our way of working, through development with our customers and surroundings. Today, one clear business trend spells digitalization, as it makes processes more efficient and traceable. It is therefore obvious that we must also move towards that development.''
High demands
As a subcontractor to different industries, demands are high revolving chosen material and quality control through certificates. Being able to rapidly deliver these is an asset, and sometimes a necessity.
''The demands on stainless steel, especially within food and pharma, are many and varied, additionally these often need to be documented immediately. In stressful situations when handling several orders at a time, easy access to our certificates is crucial'', says Freddy.
Traceability in everything
Besides making order placements smoother and certificates easier to access, the entire system breathes traceability. The digital system allows for traceability in every step of the process, says Jan-Anders.
''To be able to track and trace your order all the way, from the warehouse to the truck, is valuable to be able to prioritize daily operations. Direct responses on where the order is situated in real-time is a tool that simplifies the communication both externally and internally.''

A condition for getting started with One-Push is to connect your own item numbers with Damstahl’s, which you can do by contacting your contact person at Damstahl, or by printing them in by yourself in the web shop.
